NYE Fireworks 2022
December 31, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us for one of the longest running citizen’s torchlight parades in the country followed by a spectacular fireworks display on the mountain. Most other ski resorts use their ski school instructors to ski down the mountain with road flares for their torchlight parades, but at Snow King we put the flares in your hands!
In order for us to keep this 50 year old tradition alive we ask participants to abide by the following rules:
- Expert skiers and snowboarders only!
- Waivers are required to participate. Sign yours online in advance or at the Lodge room the day of the event.
- No visibly intoxicated guests will be permitted to participate.
- No drugs or alcohol use will be permitted on the lift/gondola. Bags are subject to search.
- Minors 14 and over are required to participate with a parent present and have parents sign liability waivers. Parents must ski or snowboard with their children and understand the risks of holding a flaming road torch while skiing an expert ski run in the dark. Minors without parents present skiing/boarding with them will not be permitted to load the gondola/lift.
- Flares must be extinguished in trash cans provided, do not put your flares into a pile in the snow!
- No personal fireworks permitted.
- If you light a personal flare or fireworks on the gondola you will be escorted down by ski patrol!
- Please follow the instructions of the Parade Leader and follow the leader down the ski run so we can have a great show.
- Behave appropriately so Snow King Mountain is not forced to cancel this tradition due to an accident or incident!!!!!!!
Tips for a successful torchlight parade:
- Do not participate if you are not an expert skier or snowboard who is capable of skiing challenging terrain in the dark with a flaming torch. An expert run at Snow King Mountain may be much more difficult than an expert run at your home resort. Enjoy your night by watching the parade and fireworks from the base.
- Show up early and sign your waiver at the Lodge room starting at 5:45pm. Warm and cold beverages as well as food will be available at the Snow King Cafe while you are waiting to load.
- Parade leader will brief participants in the lodge room at approximately 6:30 with safety instructions.
- Dress warm and wear old clothes you don’t mind accidentally burning or dripping flaming torch on.
- Pay attention so you don’t hit someone with your torch or damage your personal equipment.
- Expect to ski/board either the Gondola and the Elk Run or the Cougar Lift and on Lower Elk. Snow and weather conditions will dictate which is used the day the of the parade.
- Expect one torch per person so all people present can participate, there may not be extras if you fail to light your torch appropriately or get a dud.
- Thank the Snow King Team for all they do so you can have a great time on NYE and all winter long.
