June 16th ~ National Museum of Wildlife Art’s Plein Air Festival
Where: Sculpture Trail
More Info: The Seventh Annual “Plein Air Fest”, a family friendly event at the National Museum of Wildlife Art, gathers more than 50 artists at the museum’s sculpture trail overlooking the picturesque National Elk Refuge. The artists working outdoors (en plein air) will paint around the three-quarter mile long sculpture trail working with a variety of mediums. During the fast paced “quick draw” portion of the festival, artists will complete plein air masterpieces in just four hours. Along with seeing the artists at work, art lovers and collectors will have an opportunity to purchase the freshly created pieces via silent bid from 1:30pm-2:30pm.
