The Hahnenkahm – considered the “Superbowl of Skiing” – is one of the most famous alpine ski races in the world. Held each year in Kitzbuehl Austria, it’s famed “Streif” course is considered the most demanding course on the World Cup circuit. Here in Jackson, we tend to be a little competitive – and Snow King Mountain is home to more than one Olympian. While “Grizzly” isn’t quite the “Streif,” we do have a “Steilhang” that is pretty darn steep. Olympians have been known to show up and put everyone to shame. This community favorite – sponsored by the Jackson Hole Ski Club – draws more than 200 competitors and 500 spectators. It must be seen to be believed.
