What kind of equipment will I need?
Ice climbing boots or your ski boots (we only have one size run of boots), Eye protection – ski goggles or sun glasses, Several warm synthetic layers, Waterproof or soft-shell jacket and pants, A down coat or vest is great to have. Warm mittens and gloves, 2 pairs if possible. Nice to have a thinner pair for climbing, thicker for warming up between climbs, Thick wool or synthetic socks, Snacks and water, Thermos of hot chocolate, Climbing harness if you have one.

Do I need special skills to ice climb?
First-time climbers are welcome! You can learn the basics of climbing, and give it a shot with experienced ice climbing guides. This is an athletic sport and you should be relatively fit.

Can I come to open climbing if I’ve never ice climbed before?
If you’ve never climbed before we recommend making an appointment with a guide. While there are guides at the wall to ensure safety they don’t provide individual instruction.

All climbers must wear an approved climbing helmet at all times – while climbing and when you are anywhere near the base of the ice. Helmet rentals available.

All climbers must pass a skills assessment with the guide on site, and must fill out a Registration Form and two Acknowledgement of Risk/Release of Liability forms.
